There are about 18 resorts on the official El Gouna directory at the time we checked, with one listed as opening soon. They range from large five-star resorts to smaller boutique hotels spread across Downtown, the marinas and the wider town.
Resorts cluster in a few areas. Downtown sits around Tamr Henna Square, close to shops and cafes. Several hotels line Abu Tig Marina by the boats. Two more sit at the golf courses, and larger resorts are spread across the wider town.
Yes. El Gouna has two 18-hole championship golf courses. El Gouna Golf is at the Steigenberger Golf Resort, and Ancient Sands Golf Club is at the Ancient Sands Golf Resort. Both sit within the town itself.
The dossier lists the Steigenberger Golf Resort, Mövenpick Resort & Spa and Sheraton Miramar Resort as five-star. The Mövenpick and Sheraton both take part in El Gouna's Dine Around scheme across participating restaurants.
